The Siberian Elm Tree (Uilmus Pumila) is deciduous fast growing upright open wide growing in stature. Flowers emerge March to May, are light green to reddish, lack petals and occur in small, compact, drooping clusters of two to five. Leaves are small, elliptic toothed, arranged alternately along the stems. On mature trees, bark is dark gray with shallow grooves. Roots are shallow and widely spreading root system. A tall sturdy tree that can be planted as a single specimen or as hedging, wind/sound breaker. One of the most disease resistant (particularly to Dutch Elm Disease) of the elms.
Plant in full to partial sun (at least 6 hours of full sun), grows in most soils.
